The settlement of armed conflict in the Donbass and the return of the annexed Crimea can not be measured at times, for which there are no grounds for today.
Mikhail Samus, deputy director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Research, said in a broadcast on the "Today Now" at the Gromadsky.
"When we talk about settling armed conflicts, I do not know how to impose a timeline here. This is absolutely impossible, because the armed conflict is a potential, that is, the balance of the parties. When we say that an armed conflict can be resolved for a while - this means that there is a balance between the parties and how can this balance change ... Both the Crimea and the Donbas can not be measured by time. If we change the strategic balance, then there is a chance to talk about it, "said Samus.
Earlier Zelensky's adviser for security Ivan Appershin said that the return of the Donbas to Ukraine's control may take five years.
